Hey man, as promised, I am back with new niche content. This is my first post on this Twitter and personal branding niche, and I wanted to start it with reasons to start on Twitter.
Now you might say, “But bro, I just saw Twitter just set a limit on their tweet views; people might start leaving the platform; shouldn’t I wait for some time and start later?”
If you're thinking the same, I feel you know nothing about what’s going on inside the platform. People and creators there have no problems with the rate limit, and they are actually happy that they do not have to spend hours on Twitter anymore. If you still can’t believe me, I would ask you to start there, spend some time, and see yourself.
All I want from you is that you do not miss out on the millions of opportunities that are being created by the platform. Here are all the reasons to start building an online presence on Twitter.
The networking opportunities you get on Twitter are through the roof. Not like on LinkedIn, everyone is ready to help you out if you have the courage to ask them for help. Even when I started, I was amazed too see that people with 1,000 followers were ready to hop on a call with me for FREE.
The amount of organic reach you get on Twitter is insane. I’ve heard people say Twitter’s reach is dead, but you know what? In a week, I have continuously hit over 1500 impressions, and some of them even got 6,000+ impressions. So, if you know how to play, you will hit the bull's eye.
As I have been on LinkedIn, Medium, and Instagram, I can definitely say Twitter is the best place to find like-minded people. They will keep you motivated and on track all the time.
Twitter is the best place for both long-form and short-form content. You do not have to go anywhere else. For short form, you have tweets with a 280-character limit (though with a blue tick, it is 10,000 characters), and for long form, you’ve got threads.
On Twitter, it is easy to go viral. I am not kidding; with literally 150+ followers, one of my question tweets went viral. It's so easy to get exposure.
The audience there is not toxic. If you stay on the good side of Twitter, you see how humble people are, always sharing learnings and positivity. But if you roam around the political side of it, then there is only hatred.
Unlike LinkedIn, which turned into the new generation of Instagram, you will not see any showoffs on Twitter. People are more keen to share knowledge than the things they own.
The platform is less saturated, which means less competition. That makes it the best time to start on the platform.
On Twitter, it is easy to build a genuine connection with your followers. So, you can literally get them to sign up for your email list with less effort.
As Twitter is completely a text-based platform (they are expanding to visuals, though), it is easier to get feedback on your writing and work. So it is actually being built in public.
If you know how to write an attractive post or thread, it is very easy to get a client from Twitter. I know a guy who is not even on Twitter but works as a ghostwriter for a CEO.
If I have to pick the best followers across all social platforms, I will pick Twitter any day. No matter what I post—on life, personal opinion, tips, or failures— they are always ready to support me. I barely get ‘hate’ there.
So now you have my personal 12 reasons to start there. What are you waiting for? Build your online presence on Twitter today.
